Quote by Spider Webb - Tattoo Artist

"Tattooing when understood in its entirety must be seen as a religious act. The human being brings forth images from the center of self and communicates them to the world. Fantasy is embodied in reality, and the person is made whole."

New ink

Yeah I know, I suck. I haven't been the greatest at keeping this blog updated. What can I say, having 2 jobs takes alot of time out of a day. Anyhow here is my latest work:

"We strive to be worthy of their devotion". I'd been looking for something that would represent dogs in way I loved. (One of my jobs is as a dog trainer.) I stumbled across this celtic version of a pawprint and knew this was it. My tattoo guy did a great job designing the rest of it with the quote. The forget-me-knots are in memory of the dogs gone but not forgotten. I think I'm going to go back and add more flowers above it on my shoulder.

Faith

My newest tat:

I have changed my mind about the Joan of Arc tattoo. I think I want the Archangel Micheal slaying Lucifer instead. Just need to find the right artwork.

Still here, still planning

I have been really busy lately. Sorry for the lack of posts. I went to a baseball game a couple months ago with the family and snapped these pics of one of the pitchers warming up. (Portland SeaDogs, a Red Sox minor league team) I have a crappy camera at present so excuse the lack of quality.

He has the word FORGIVEN on his forearm.

Being a Christian myself I did really enjoy spotting this one.

I am still planning my Joan of Arc tat. Just a lack of funds and time has made actual aquisition difficult. I also need to decide where on my body I want it to go. The husband and I are currently in negotiations about that. VBG

Still Looking

I'm still on the search for some good Joan of Arc art to become my next tat. I know my tattoo guy is itching to do it, I'm just really careful about what I am going to put permanently on my body. I learned my lesson with the wings after all. I found this interesting related post (and blog) while surfing this morning.

Boy this guy makes me look like such a slacker when it comes to posting. I guess I need to step it up a notch!

PS: After I posted I remembered a piece I have in my bedroom that I might consider using to represent her. I really love it. I have seen other copies of this in the past and think it might have a name. If anyone is familar please drop me a line in the comment section about it.

Can you guess?

Can you guess WHY they had lines tattoo'd on their toes? (answer below)

Because they are knitters. This is the line where they need to start decreasing for the toe of their socks. Love it!!!

Next tattoo idea

For my next tattoo I am thinking I want Joan of Arc on my lower leg. So I am scouting for pictures of her to tweak or use. This one I found in a kids magazine at the doctors office today.

It may be abit romanticized but I like it. I'm going to keep looking though.

A tattoo facelift

Before: here is my shoulder tat from 1992ish. Originally done at Tattoo America Hampton Beach NH. It was flash I picked out and asked for rainbow colored wings on. It was also a cover up of a smaller broken heart. It got old and tired looking and I didn't like how the had colors faded. (and wasn't thrilled with the original colors in the first place) I also didn't like how the left wing looked one dimensional yet the right one looked ok.
Yesterday I had it re-done by Chris at Atlantic Studio in Rockland Maine. I think he did fabulous with what I gave him to work with.

Needless to say I am VERY pleased with the results. It isn't a tattoo I would pick out for myself today (ahh youth) but at least now I am not embarrassed to have it on my body.
Kids let this be a lesson to you to always pick the colors you want in your tattoo. Not every tattoo can be fixed later on. And even those that can will have limitations. I got lucky.

Joan of Arc

Artwork by Jacki Randall. I haven't found the perfect picture for me yet but she is one I would love to have represented.
